MIA Photo Fair is the first and most important art fair dedicated to photography and moving images in Italy. Founded in 2011, the fair is directed by Fabio Castelli and Lorenza Castelli. The fair, which takes place every year in Milan, offers its visitors a complete itinerary on art photography through a series of personal exhibitions and collective stands with a specific curatorial project. This is the context in which ADMIRA participates, presenting the artists every year to offer to the collectors the chance to admire the proposals of the authors of the past, and the protagonists of contemporary photography. To enrich or begin with ADMIRA your own photographic art collection.
In 2014, for the fourth edition of the Mia Photo Fair, ADMIRA exhibited the works of two great personalities of photography: Charlotte Perriand and Michael Somoroff.
Charlotte Perriand, famous French designer and architect (she signed the legendary chaise longue with Le Corbusier and Jeanneret), in the 1930s explored the photographic language with a great spirit of research and experimentation in line with the artistic avant-gardes of the time. The author is exclusively represented by ADMIRA, in collaboration with Archives Charlotte Perriand in Paris, managed by Pernette Perriand Barsac, the artist’s daughter.
In Michael Somoroff’s stand, instead, an overview of the fundamental stages of his career was presented. From innovative initial still life, through portraits of the masters of twentieth-century photography, to contemporary projects in which he declines his creations in a reflection on love, desire and spirituality.
