CHARLOTTE PERRIAND
Charlotte Perriand
Besides her amazing contribution to the history of architecture and design Charlotte Perriand held also a unique role in the panorama of fine art photography. The exhibition reveals her incredible potential in the use of photographic language. Her still life, collages, street scenes, landscapes and even her visual notes, show the exceptional perspective that Charlotte Perriand - a free spirit and a modern woman - used to picture the world. Her photographs tell us a story of experimentation, inspired by the desire to get to the essence of reality, objects or atmospheres and prove that the motivations behind her choices were always a step ahead. Her photographic works often enclosed seminal ideas that sometimes developed into her design pieces. Other times she used to create skilfully staged self-portraits that highlighted her open, independent character, far from commonplaces.
