ADMIRA is a studio specialized in traveling exhibitions and ad hoc projects, cultural events, publications and collateral activities in the field of photography. ADMIRA was founded in 1997 by Enrica Viganò - she brings together the wide experience and the professionalism gained by planning and coordinating over 80 exhibitions for the Galleria Il Diaframma.
The strength of ADMIRA is its ability to highlight the photographic culture in all its aspects.
We follow our events all over the world and in every phase of their development: from the concept to curating, from design to communication strategy, we take care of every detail in collaboration with the partners, the venues and the institutions involved in each project.
EXHIBITIONS ADMIRA successfully organizes and coordinates travelling exhibitions in public and private institutions, in Italy and abroad. ADMIRA makes possible to loan photographic exhibitions, all built with the utmost care. Among these, the retrospective of Duane Michals and Mario Giacomelli, the solo exhibition of Larry Fink and Nino Migliori, the group show NeoRealismo. The new image in Italy 1932-1960. The venues that hosted the ADMIRA exhibitions are all prominent: Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid), Odakyu Museum (Tokyo), Palazzo Reale (Milan), Fotografie Forum International (Frankfurt), New York University (New York), PAC (Milan), Fotofest (Houston).
AD HOC PROJECTS ADMIRA realizes specific projects with different objectives, creating and executing ideas that meet the needs of institution and clients who require ADMIRA services. Some examples are: CODICE MIA for MIA Photo Fair, a portfolio review for mid-career artists who can meet one- on-one with collectors; the series of symposiums on collecting photography for Foto&Photo, the conference La fotografia come fonte di storia for the Istituto Veneto in Venice. ADMIRA also organizes cultural trips for the board of trustees of museums and foundations such as the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego (USA) and FotoColectania in Barcelona, and serves as an advisor for companies that want to include photographers in their communication strategy: an example of this collaboration are various projects realized for MARNI or for the Taiwan Attitude magazine.
The ADMIRA FineArt department targets collectors of all types such as museums, foundations, universities and individuals. ADMIRA makes available for purchase a selection of vintage, modern e later prints by Italian and international masters to expand art collections, always ensuring the highest level of integrity and reliability. The prints available for purchase can be viewed at the ADMIRA studio in Milan.
PUBLISHING ADMIRA EDIZIONI is a publishing house specialized in photography established in 2003. ADMIRA publishes high-quality volumes dedicated to past and contemporary photographers.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES ADMIRA organizes a series of additional cultural activities in conjunction with exhibitions such as lectures, panel discussion, round tables in collaboration with photography professionals at national and international level. These activities contribute in giving stature and visibility to the exhibition, making it a complete cultural event.
ADMIRA+ The non-profit cultural association ADMIRA+ aims to spread the language of photography through actions that range in all areas of use of this medium in the visual arts.
